How To Play Piano Chords
We all have dreams as we grow up. There are those that dream to be firefighters, nurses and sports players, but then there are those that want to dedicate their lives to playing music. Mastering an instrument that has up to 88 keys is perhaps one of the biggest challenges. Many people are drawn to playing the piano. One of the reasons why the piano is so admired is because of its ability to produce sounds of different styles and moods.
Many experience a real connection when playing the piano and even individuals that have just started learning how to play piano chords. Playing the piano is really just an extension of ones thoughts and creativity like a paintbrush to canvass. Piano players that struggle are the ones that don't play with passion and feeling. It can be frustrating when you feel like you're not making progress on technique, but practice is essential for success.
Even the most talented pianists began at the bottom and had to make their way up. It's only through regular practice that these greats became who they are. Once you review how to play piano chords and know where to place your fingers mentally, it's imperative to get on the keyboard or piano. Using the imagination to practice playing chords can help you to develop much more quickly.
Mental visualizations only really work if you make them vivid. See yourself sitting in front of a piano and feel your fingers on the keys. It's no secret that the practice of visualizations is a powerful tool which is used by many professionals in various fields including golfers, soccer players, sprinters and musicians. The use of mental visualizations is an age old tool that has been used by anyone that knows how powerful it can be.
Make a habit of daily practice and apply what you learn from books. You may feel strange and clumsy when just beginning on the piano. However most new starters do. The more you get on the piano and play, the more you will comfortable and in time it will feel very natural for you. The point is to practice as often as you can and don't be afraid to play. Everyone sounds bad when they first play the piano.
Electric keyboards are affordable and are absolutely fine to learn piano on. You can pick up cheap second hand keyboards to start out on. Although usually pricier, a keyboard with weighted keys is a better choice. Weighted keys can give the feeling of playing on a real piano in comparison to cheaper keyboards.
You will find that it's much easier to switch over to a real piano when playing a keyboard with weighted keys. Synthesizer keys tend to be rather springy and feel a little mechanical which a lot of pianists do not like. There are a couple of pros to playing on a keyboard, even though playing on a piano is still the best.
For one, you can control the volume and even wear headphones; great for keeping the neighbors happy. They have built in metronomes which are essential for keeping rhythm and time. Electric keyboards require no tuning, which will save you from having to get a piano tuner. Another good point, is that keyboards are portable, making them easy to transport. A piano is still a better choice despite the advantages of a keyboard. Most pianists would agree that a piano is just incomparable.
