Choosing Your First Digital Piano Keyboard
Are you looking to buy an electronic piano or keyboard for the first time? This guide is about some of the most popular brands of digital pianos in the market today.
Once you begin learning some advanced skills, you start to buy and own more than just a single electronic piano. For the start, however, it can be quite a daunting task to sort out between the good and the bad, after all you are still new to these whole thing.
I have been in that position myself back few years ago. Getting to know the industry most popular lines of digital sound equipments is a challenge for most new comers.
No wonder if you did your homework, you'll be very familiar with the name Yamaha keyboards or Yamaha digital pianos. Then there are Roland, Kawai, Kurzweil, Korg, Technics, Casio, Suzuki and some others.
The list I just described is just the beginning, there are about dozen more, but for the sake of this review, we will concentrate only on few of the most popular ones.
Yamaha has been making all kind of string instrument for centuries, and their line of electric pianos are definitely very good choices, if not say one of the best selections available in the market. It is good for both entry level and advanced stage performers.
For the best acoustic sound quality in a digital unit, I suggest you buy Roland pianos. You get realistic and authentic sound of traditional pianos with Roland. Perhaps, its take away is the slight plastic feel for the keys when you play on digital upright units.
Next in our list is the Japanese Kawai - a long time manufacturer of grand pianos. This Japanese company only does one thing - make and build pianos. Kawai has the reputation for being among the best piano makers. Everything is built with high grade and long lasting materials. If it doesn't last for ages, it's not the "Kawai" way.
If you know that you want a keyboard, it would be very wise to choose Kurweil pianos.
For a really professional stage performer piano, you should buy KORG keyboards. I wouldn't recommend this for entry level enthusiasts, because KORGs are quite expensive and have too many things a beginner wouldn't know how to use.
Technics come in one of the smallest sizes and are great if you know you will be moving the piano around more than once. It's just that Technics sound quality is still far from authentic piano sound.
Casio offers the lowest price range you could get for any kind of digital piano and electronic keyboards. Casio make practicing simple, because it makes everything basic and easy to understand. For any beginner student, Casio is the excellent choice if your budget is not big and you want to get the taste of playing on electric piano.
The last one in our list is Suzuki. This famous brand of digital piano is well known across schools around the world. They have some of the best educational systems and software to come along with the purchase of Suzuki pianos. This is what most piano tutors would buy to teach kids at school. It's just convenient when you can actually get free support software on the internet right from Suzuki's official website.
